Progress continues for our new Kayenta Center for the Arts. Lots of behind-the-scenes planning activity just ahead of actual excavation. We will continue to update you on progress, and of course you can witness for yourself what’s happening in that curious little corner of the Coyote Gulch Art Villlage that will soon become our indoor facility for all of the Southern Utah area to enjoy. Your generous contributions have carried us this far, but there is still much to be done, as we need to raise additional funds for the interior and contents of the building. If you’d like more information on the Arts Center and/or would like to contribute, please contact Garry Morris at kayentaartsfoundation@gmail.com. You can also go to www.kayentaartsfoundation.org, Kayenta Arts Foundation’s website, to view the promo video for the Center and review the Building Fund brochure.
2013 Art in Kayenta Festival commemorative posters are now on sale for $10 at the shops in the Coyote Gulch Art Village. Be sure to mark this date on your calendars, October 11 – 13, Friday thru Sunday, same weekend as the Huntsman Senior Games.
There are many ways you can get involved and be a part of this festive event. These include:
– You and/or your business can become a sponsor (www.kayentaartsfoundation.org).
– You can volunteer (details coming soon).
– You can spread the word and promote our festival to your friends and family.
– You can host an artist in your home. Housing will be a real challenge during this time, since St. George rooms are pricey and already booked for Senior Games athletes and families. And hosting could potentially involve a perk from the artist! (contact susan@kayenta.net).
Directors work diligently to bring a variety of visual and performing arts to the greater southern Utah area. Announcements for these events are made in the Kayenta Connection and on the KAF website www.kayentaartsfoundation.org and via KAF’s e-mail list. If you would like to be added to this list or if you have suggestions for an event or comments about a past event, please feel free to contact us at kayentaartsfoundation@gmail.org
Be a Part of the Art. Yet another great way to get involved is to become a KAF Board Member. Every individual has their own unique talents and strengths to bring to the table, and therefore we invite you to submit your name to our Board Chair, Judith Kapuscinski, at judithk@kayentaartsfoundation.org
